Review: This is the second in The Faerie Court Chronicles series but can be read as a standalone. The first book would just give the second more background information, plus more world building. I was a bit sad to see that the second book didn’t follow the same two characters from the first. That sadness was soon forgotten though within the two new characters.

The Author has a very skilled hand in creating very strong kick-ass women. But real people (Can you call Faerie people? Yes whatever too confusing.) Every single character, whether big or small is a very unique individual. You got to know them all quite well, all their dialogue was that on point. The world building is also very well detailed, but not too detailed to the point your confused. The mixing of the human world and faerie world keep you grounded.

The fighting, sometimes you find that when people do fight scenes you can hardly follow it because it comes across as a bit confusing, or the Author is trying too hard. That is not the case with this book. It was never over the top, it was just right and realistic as it can be when dealing with a fantasy world.

I also just like how the romance is played out. It a big part of the book but it doesn’t take away from the other aspects. It just there. It doesn’t smother the story, it helps the story unfold.
