I am no blogging expert. I am learning as I’m going. Some things I fuck up, somethings I pick up. Most things I just wing it. Either way here 1 thing I’ve learnt as a book blogger part 29;
Explain yourself woman. I will jeez. (I lost it years ago)
(Sorry really tired the day I wrote this up and I agreed to overtime like an asshole.)
I had a bit of a weird experience when I first started. I got contacted by a company/place that helps Authors get started, the Author pays them a fee and they seek reviewers/promotion packages and what not. So they sent me three books from one author. I said I would read one of her books and go from there. So I read one, it was okay, bit meh. Wasn’t really my cup of tea. I sent them an email back with my review and no reply, nothing. Even checking them books now, they have zero reviews bar my review.
I said I would give the other two ago, but with their non-replying and shitty attitude (that’s what it felt like) I was like fuck this not reading her other two books. Kind of feel bad for the Author, I hope she didn’t sink a lot of money into it.
So the lesson I learnt was if you getting weird vibes or bad attitude from someone who provided you with books, don’t take it.
Great post and 💕

Agreed! I will always reach out and let the authors know directly that I have started reading their book for review. They seem to like that as it keeps them in the know 🙂

I email them after I finish it if they aren’t on twitter, if they are on twitter I just tag them. Saves me having to then email them again.

Yessss 👏🏻
I refused books from one author who went out of his way to criticize reviewers for giving his books low ratings.
Great advice, as always

Great advice! I never understand people who get upset when you don’t enjoy something! Everyone likes different things!

Exactly but it was more the fact they didn’t even care that I did a review. It was like okay weird. I even gave it 3 stars

🙂 If you want to do book reviews, you would have to tell it like it is.
If the book did not meet your criteria, you should let your readers know.
Unfortunately, some people only want you to do positive reviews.
I would appreciate an honest book review any day!
