Goodreads: The Gilded King (Sovereign #1)

Rating: 4/5 (Really liked it)
Official Summary: “In the Blue, the world’s last city, all is not well.
Julia is stuck within its walls. She serves the nobility from a distance until she meets Lucas, a boy who believes in fairytales that Julia’s world can’t accommodate. The Blue is her prison, not her castle, and she’d escape into the trees if she didn’t know that contamination and death awaited humanity outside.
But not everyone in the Blue is human, and not everyone can be contained.
Beyond the city’s boundaries, in the wild forests of the Red, Cameron has precious little humanity left to lose. As he searches for a lost queen, he finds an enemy rising that he thought long dead. An enemy that the humans have forgotten how to fight.
One way or another, the walls of the Blue are coming down. The only question is what side you’ll be on when they do.” – Goodreads
Review: I really need to catch up with her other series. You can read this perfectly as a standalone but it does suck you into the world. Makes you want to know more about the past and what happened to make the world the way it is now. This is the second book I have read by the Author, I have to really hand it to her. She really knows how to build a world so interesting you are asking questions. You want to know more about how it works, why it been changed the way it has.
When the second coming out? I really want to read the rest in the series. You can really tell the Author has some juicy things planned. I would love to see more hand to hand fighting, just more to show the Silver’s strength and skills but then again I am a more action-packed girl.
(Disclaimer: I received a free copy from Author. Does not affect my review)
I’m reading this right now. I’m a big fan of the Solis Invictis series and would thoroughly recommend it to you. Reviews on my site 🙂
