Would you rather lose your life or lose your mind?

Detective Inspector Helen Grace has faced down her own demons on her rise to the top. As she leads the investigation to hunt down this unseen monster, she learns that it may be the survivors – living calling cards – who hold the key to the case.

And unless she succeeds, more innocents will die . . .” – Goodreads

Review: This is the first book I have read by the Author and I really enjoyed it. I need to check out more of his work. I liked how his main character is damaged, she not perfect. She has two sides, one that she shows the world. The other she only shows to herself and one other person. Her past experiences, her life made her into the person she has become for better or for worse. I liked that even when the poo was hitting the fan, she didn’t care about her reputation. All she cared about was doing the right thing and trying to save people.

It was nice to see other sides to the people around her as well. The bits you did see of other people showed a lot of about their characters and the people she surrounds herself with. Good people who have some flaws. No one is perfect in this book. Everyone is multi-layered and human.

The crime story in itself was unique and out there. It wasn’t your standard crime story. I didn’t know until the end who was doing it and why. The book left you guessing from the very first page, which is rare.
