Review: I read the 5th in the series before any of the other books. Because it was that good, it made me want to read the rest of the series. I just really like how the books are laid out. You follow a case from the very beginning, you see both sides of it. The ‘bad’ guy side and the police side. You are there for every grueling and slow step. From the sick to the bad. It all added layers and tones to the story.
Because you are following from the beginning it gets your mind working. When new things come to light, you are thinking alongside the police, trying to figure out what it means and who it pointing more towards. For a very long time, you just don’t know who did it because the police don’t know. I liked how the Author took her time to introduce the ‘bad’ guys side of things. The Author let you get to know the police team first before throwing more into the mix
Another thing I really enjoyed was the outside elements added. You got to see more than Detective Hunter’s job, you got to see her other life too. She may appear all tough and sure of herself at work but at home it a different matter. I liked how vulnerable she appeared at times. It made her a multi-layered character and made you connected with her.
(Disclaimer: I received a copy from the Author. Does not affect my review.)
I see you’ve started on the rest of the series. How far have you gotten?
