Official Summary: “If your ex is the Prince of Greed, you’d better be ready to raise Hell.
Charlie Henderson is living a lie. Her real name is Muse, she’s half demon, and her attempt at a normal life is about to go up in smoke.
When an assassin walks into her life, leaving a trail of destruction in his wake, Muse must return to the one man she hoped never to see again and ask for help. The Prince of Greed isn’t known for his charity. The price is high, and the cost could tear her apart.
Trapped between the malevolent intentions of a Prince of Hell and an assassin with ulterior motives, Muse must embrace the lure of chaos at her core—the demon inside her—in order to survive.” – Goodreads
Review: So many twists and turns, you thought it was going one way, then it went that way and then that way. Strangely it wasn’t confusing. It just kept you on your toes and guessing who the ‘good guys’ were. In that sense no one was the ‘good’ person, most of the characters were grey or just pure darkness.
I just liked how you got to know the main character, Muse. I read the prequel before I read the first book, it free on her site by the way. I knew the backstory into why she was the way she is. It was just sad to see how things panned out, you really felt for the character. You wanted her to have some kind of happiness.
Another thing I really enjoyed was the fact that she wasn’t some superhero, badass. She had to work at it, she wasn’t invincible. She made mistakes and learnt from it. She was a badass in her own right, but the story showed she had a lot to improve on. Hopefully, in the next few books in the series, I get to see that.
Awesome review! This book sounds pretty interesting!
