Review: I always struggle a bit with high fantasy books, always so much happening and so many names to remember which doesn’t help with being dyslexic. It is a relief when someone dies, then I don’t have to try and remember who they were. Or what they had done in the book. I made the mistake of listening to this book years after reading first. I did again struggle with remembering what happened in the first book.
I liked how it didn’t focus on one person, it switched between a lot of characters to give more layers to the whole story. It also made you excited to read their individual stories. I did not expect that ending, I knew the series was long so didn’t expect a confrontation of that degree so soon.
The fighting done was really good, I liked how the women fought there own way out of situations. It wasn’t here comes the men to rescue them. Can never go wrong with women kicking butt.
I’m currently ten books into this series and love it! You’re absolutely right about the names. I found that this site helps so much! Chapter by chapter summaries, a name glossary, etc. Just don’t look at the footnotes (spoilers). http://www.encyclopaedia-wot.org/
