Official Summary: “The rules of kingship have been lost with lack of care and the passing of time, but when the Prince retaliates against the Daughter of the Holy when she refuses to marry him and ensures she is sentenced to death by pyre for refusing him so publicly, the old ways reawaken, and the people remember and enforce the word of rule.
Landis, an ordinary soldier, must ensure the Daughter of the Father Holy lives. Not an easy task when she speaks up in the wrong places at the wrong times and says the wrong things to annoy the wrong people.” – Goodreads

Review: It was okay. The main problem I had was that I was just bored reading it. You didn’t get to know the characters before everything happened. So you couldn’t really form any emotional attachment to them. The only characters you knew quiet well were the bad guys, which did make you want them to choke on a grape. Other than that it was just ‘oh I wonder how it ends’ that kept me going. Not going to lie I did want to stop.

The uniqueness of the world and the way they did things; I saw what the Authors was trying to do but for me personally it missed the mark. You go from page to page, figuring out what they are going on about. You start getting into the flow of the book, then another thing pops up and another thing, that just throws you off balance again.

Overall I just couldn’t get into it enough to enjoy it. It might be amazing for someone else, sadly just not for me.
